According to a research based on age group 18 to 43 years, it was found that those women who eat apples on regular basis reported as satisfactory people in their sexual lives. Apple is considered as a wonder fruit as it contains various essential nutrients. You must have heard that “an apple a day keeps a doctor away”, this phrase itself explains the wonders of this miracle fruit.

In this research, all the participants were asked to complete FSFI (Female Sexual Function Index). There were 19 questions in FSFI based on the participants’ sexual activities along with frequency and overall satisfaction. The team of researchers was found that having an apple per day is linked to higher FSFI scores.

The researchers also noted that, the reason may lie in compound phloridzin that is present in apple & similar to female sex hormone estradiol which plays a vital role in sexual arousal. Apples are also a rich source of polyphenols & antioxidants which can stimulate blood flow to genitalia.

How rice contributes to your health with its benefits?

In India a very common perception about rice is that it increases the risk of gaining weight. Hence, people either give up rice (even if they love to eat rice a lot) or they replace it with wheat/brown rice. If you take an example of Chinese, average of them are slim even though they include rice in all the meals of a day.

Rice is a rich package of amino acids (protein’s building blocks) and Vitamin B, so replacing it with any other food (wheat or brown rice) means minimizing the intake of these important nutrients. Brown rice has its outer layer (husk & bran) intact thereby prepared with high fibre. Your body needs fibre but if you get it more than your digestive power (as high fibre find in brown rice), it will only cause indigestion to you. The extremely polished rice that gives you extreme whiteness is actually not a good source of nutrients.

The rice should be polished to that extent where the nutrients (vitamin B, Proteins & fibres) of it will remains and it looks brownish/reddish. The outer bran of rice can be removed but brown/red stains of it should be allowed to retain as it is. You will not be compromising with the taste by doing so. You can have basmati rice also with the brown/red stains without compromising with the taste.

The protein contents of this rice will be easily absorbed by your body as compared to brown rice. It also gets digested easily as compared to brown rice. The kids do thousands of tantrums not to eat food (such as my stomach is aching today, I am not feel like having anything, my stomach is full, I do not like this food, I want something else to eat etc.) at the dining table. Parents do lot of efforts to feed their kids. They should try these super foods making it little more interesting for your kids to provide better nutrition.

Avoid drinking water between meals

As we all know that drinking enough water on daily basis is a good habit but drinking water between meals is not a good habit for our health. Drinking water between meals may create problems in the digestive system and can also cause significant fluctuation in the insulin level of our body. Experts say that we should not drink water between meals.




What happens if we drink water between meals?

Many of us are use to drink water between meals which is actually a wrong habit. People do not have any idea that how badly it can affect our digestive system. Especially those people who are suffering from poor digestion should “say not to drinking water between meals”. Our stomach has a very good instinct power to know when we eat and starts releasing digestive juices immediately. At the same time if we start drinking water then it will interrupt the process of breaking down food through diluting the digestive juices being released to digest the meal. This can severely harm our digestive system.

Avoid drinking water between meals

Let’s have a glance on “what happens in reality when we drink water between meals”. If we drink water between meals it gets absorbed by the intestine walls of our stomach. This process continues until it becomes concentrated enough for the digestive juices to start digesting the meal stuff. If we start drinking water between meal then the concentrated stuff will become thicker than the food content in our stomach when it gets mixed with water. Further it will secrete less gastric juice to digest food. The outcome of this process will be the undigested food stuff which starts leaking into our system as it gets absorbed through the stomach walls.

· This may also cause acid reflux and heart burn.

· It also causes surge in the insulin level of our body, in such a way high glycemic food will affect our body.

We should avoid drinking water between meals. Experts say that if we have few sips between our meals then is does not cause severe problem to our digestion. On the other hand, if we drink a glass or two between meals then it is a serious issue. The best way is to drink water is at least ½ hour before meal time or after minimum 1 hours because it helps in the absorption of nutrients.

What should we do to avoid the habit of drinking water between meals?


· Make sure that the food is not too salty because it increases the thirst.

· Do not eat in hurry, give enough time to gulp your food satisfactorily.

· Do not swallow the food, instead chew it to have a comfortable gulp.
