How can you stop the unhealthy habit of biting your nails?

Biting nails is an unhealthy habit. Many people acquire this horrible habit of biting nails especially when they are in tension. This habit not only damages your nails but also can harm your teeth and stomach. The dust particles or debris will go inside your stomach when you bite your nails and can cause serious infections. 

How can you stop the unhealthy habit of biting your nails?

It is a bad habit of biting nails. You should put some efforts to stop this unhygienic habit. There are some tips given below that will help you to stop biting your nails. You should definitely try these tips.

· You should cut your nail on regular basis. By doing so, you will have short nails and then there will be nothing to bite. 

· You need to be strict on letting go this bad habit of biting nails. You can stick notes in front of those areas where you work. These notes will work as a reminder for you.

· Get your manicure done on regular basis to maintain hygiene and avoid infections.

· Calcium deficiency can be a reason that encourages you to bite your nails. Hence, your diet has to be healthy including milk products to cover up the deficiency of calcium in your body.

· You should distract your mind when you feel like biting your nails. This will divert you mind.

· If still you cannot stop yourself from biting nails then you can apply a deterrent such as neem paste or black pepper.

· You should try to find out the reason that why you urge to bite you nails. In most of the cases it happens because of stress. If this is the case with you then you should get proper treatment for this.

· You can also wear a wrist band if nothing will work out. You need to keep snapping your wrist band each time whenever you feel like biting your nails.
