Stomach ulcer is the open blisters or sores that develop on the lining of the stomach and also known as gastric ulcer. Ulcer can also develop in part of intestine just beyond your stomach. Stomach ulcer may cause extreme pain at affected areas inside your stomach. However, stomach ulcer is curable with proper treatment but it is equally important to know the causes of stomach ulcer. Let’s have a quick glance at the causes of stomach ulcer.

There is not one factor that can be the reason for stomach ulcer instead there are various factors that develops stomach ulcer. The decrease in mucus lining of stomach leads to blisters or sores or ulcers. This can be caused by any one of these reasons-

· Use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) from long time such as aspirin & ibuprofen

· Infection with bacterium Helicobacter Pylori (H.Pylori).

· Zollinger-Ellison syndrome which is rare disease. This syndrome makes your body generate excessive acid.

· Excessive acid in the stomach can also cause stomach ulcer. Hyperacidity caused may be related to various factors such as genetics, lifestyle (stress, smoking) and certain food habits.

Certain causes of stomach ulcer that may put you at higher risk

· More consumption of alcohol

· Hereditary background of stomach ulcer

· Often uses of steroids (such as for treating asthma)

· Being over the age of 50 years

· Hypercalcemia (excessive production of calcium)

· Smoking

The painful sores or blisters mostly found in stomach lining or small intestines are termed as Stomach Ulcer. The most visible symptom of peptic ulcer disease is Stomach Ulcer. The Stomach Ulcer generates when the thick layer of mucus which protects the stomach from digestive juices is decreased, hence it enable the digestive acids to consume away at the lining tissues of the stomach.

Stomach Ulcers can be treated with proper care & treatments but it can also become severe if not treated properly. There are many symptoms that are associated with Stomach Ulcer. However, the symptoms of stomach ulcer can be severe depending on the condition of Ulcers.

What are the causing factors for asthma?

Asthma is a chronic lung disease that minimizes the ability to breathe properly. In asthma the patients feel obstructions in the inflow & outflow of air in airways (bronchi) that carry air into lungs. Asthma can be acute or chronic depending on the severity of patient’s condition. If you notice these symptoms (coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and chest squeezing) then you need to consult your doctor. The symptoms of asthma may not noticed until triggered by something that provokes a response in the body such as cold air, illness, certain medicines, exercise, stress, irritants in the air or an allergen.

Allergens are the substances that does not cause any problem to most of the people but generate an abnormal reaction in some others. When anyone (who is sensitive to a particular allergen) comes in contact with that allergen, his/her immune system takes it as a foreign substance & release chemicals to deal with it. For asthmatic persons, these chemicals can cause an asthma attack. The asthmatic person feels it difficult to breathe because of squeezing of airways and they may start coughing or wheezing. The asthmatic causes vary from asthmatic person to person but some of the common factors have listed below. Let's have a look at "What are the causing factors for asthma".

What are the causing factors for asthma?

· Irritants in the air such as smoke, fumes from chemicals and harsh odours.

· Weather conditions such as flus, cold air or extremely dry, colds, wet or windy weather and some other illnesses.

· Indoor allergen such as pet dander, dust particles and molds.

· Outdoor allergens such as pollen from grass, trees and weeds.

· Exercise (although asthmatic person may benefit from certain exercises).

· Extreme stress level.

· Viral respiratory infections (including flu) are the root causes of acute asthma attacks.

· People who have the problem of heartburn can experience asthma symptoms when stomach acid backs up into the esophagus.

· Approximately 20% of people with asthma are sensitive to aspirin. Asthmatic people should consult with their allergist whether they can avoid these products that contain aspirin such as ibuprofen.

· Beta blockers that often prescribed for high BP, glaucoma, migraine headache, angina etc. can cause bronchospasm. Bronchospasm is contraction of airway. Asthmatic people should consult with their allergist whether they can use these medicines or not.

· Food additives cause asthma in very rare cases. The most common food additive that can cause asthma is sulfite. Sulfite is a preservative used in such products as frozen potatoes and some beers & wines.

Is asthma a hereditary disease?

Yes, is the answer to this question. The chances become stronger to develop asthma if any one of your parent has or had asthma. If both of your parents have or had asthma then the chances become even more to develop asthma. Hence we can say that asthma is a hereditary disease and the tendency to develop asthma is inherited.

The studies of twin are another confirmation for asthma being a hereditary disease. According to this study, if first identical twin is asthmatic then the chances become more strong for second twin (who shares all the generic information as his/her identical twin) to have asthma than when first twin of two non-identical twins (who share few but not all the generic information) has asthma. However the entire story about asthma is not as easy as the idea that a person either inherits asthma gene or genes from their parents or does not. One fact we have come across from the studies of twin is that if one twin has asthma then the chances become stronger for other twin to develop asthma.

Is asthma a hereditary disease?

Let us discuss little more to know about "is asthma a hereditary disease?". Some people working in certain occupations (such as lumber mill) are more prone to develop asthma. For example- if you are an employee at limber mill and is exposed to sawdust from certain kinds of woods for long time then you may develop asthma. At earlier stage, the mill employee will experience the asthma symptoms only when they breathe in sawdust but after some time they develop asthma to all general stimuli (such as exercise, cold air, respiratory tract in infections etc.). In few cases the asthma may cure if the employee quit the job from mill but in some other cases it may not.

Similar to many other diseases, asthma results in part from a tendency present in anyone’s genes towards developing asthma and in part from exposure to his/her surroundings- that is part heredity and part environmental. It is quite tough to conclude that what are the environmental factors that contribute to develop asthma with a genetic predisposition. It may be the particles which you are allergic to such as germs in air, cigarette smoke, air pollution, viruses in air and many others.

How can we treat asthma with home remedies?

Asthma is a chronic lung disease that minimizes the ability to breathe properly. In asthma the patients feel obstructions in the inflow & outflow of air in airways (bronchi) that carry air into lungs. The larger bronchi, branches into smaller bronchioles that may be obstructed by squeezing of muscles, irritation or swelling in bronchis, hence it causes asthma. Asthma can be acute or chronic depending on the severity of patient’s condition. If you notice these symptoms (coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and chest squeezing) then you need to consult your doctor.

What are the common reasons causes of asthma?

· Air Pollution

· Non-specific hyperirritability

· Allergy to pollen, dust mites

· Sulfites in foods

· Respiratory infections

· Certain medicines

Home remedies to treat asthma

· Asthmatic patients can have the mixture of 1 tsp honey and ½ tsp cinnamon powder. The mixture should be taken at night just before you sleep.

· Soak 1 tsp of Fenugreek seeds in 1 cup of water overnight. Mix 1 tsp of ginger juice and 1 tsp of honey into this and have it two times a day morning and evening.

· You can also try this tip to get relief from asthma. Add 1 tsp of honey into hot water and sip it slowly. Do this just before you go to bed to remove phlegm from your throat.

· Figs are very good draining phlegm. You just need to wash 3-4 dry figs with water & soak it into one cup of water. Eat these soaked figs in the morning on empty stomach and also drink the water in which the dry figs were soaked. Now do not have anything for at least one hour after having figs. Try this for 2 hours and you will feel the relief.

· You can also boil 9-10 cloves of garlic with ½ cup of milk and have it at night. This is a very good remedy for early stage of asthmatic patients.

What are the symptoms of Asthma?

Asthma is a chronic disease that can cause inflammation and narrowing of bronchial tubes of lungs. These bronchial tubes manage the inflow and outflow of air in lungs. When you feel shortness of breath, chest squeezing and coughing, then you need to consult a good doctor because it may be asthma.

Common symptoms of Asthma

· Coughing is one of the most common symptoms of asthma. It can be disaster at night or early in the morning and can make your sleep a bad dream.
